The Continuous Improvement (CI) Manager is responsible for the leadership, training, coaching and execution of lean improvements within the facility. The CI Manager will identify and drive manufacturing and distribution improvements in order to meet or exceed safety, quality, delivery, cost, and efficiency goals.

The CI Manager will train and implement lean principles throughout the site. This position will work closely with all levels of the plant to ensure that best practices and continuous improvement are a part of our culture and are being deployed consistent with the site and company strategy. This position will report directly to the Plant Manager.

How You Will Help:

  • Collaborate with site leadership team and corporate CI leadership to develop a local lean strategy to achieve business objectives and financial targets
  • Help lead/build a strong plant team by providing formal and informal lean training, coaching and mentoring at all levels, and participating in hiring talent.
  • Drive and execute lean and continuous improvement initiatives including value steam mapping processes, kaizen events, 5S and other lean tools and principles in alignment with the ASC Business System
  • Engage with facility leadership to set specific targets to functionally and strategically achieve improvements in Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost and Innovation metrics.
  • Facilitate lean daily management; deploy and frequently coach proven problem solving techniques, and drive adoption of standard work.
  • Lead the site leadership team to establish and achieve performance-based scorecard and goals.
  • Drive the kaizen event and continuous improvement funnel from identification of opportunities to full implementation of improvements.
  • Engage in the company wide network of CI practitioners to accelerate best practice sharing, process and tool development.
What You Will Have:
  • Bachelor's degree (B.S.) in Engineering or other technical field
  • Minimum 7 years in manufacturing with 5 years in Lean/CI implementation focus, including experience leading/facilitating kaizen events and bringing transformational change to a medium to large manufacturing site
  • Subject matter expertise and practical deployment experience with lean tools like Kaizen, VSM, Problem Solving, Daily Management, TPM, 5S, Heijunka, Standard Work, Kanban, Continuous Flow and Manufacturing Model Design, Poke Yoke, and others
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship both now and within the future
  • Travel up to 20%
Preferred:
  • Masters degree in related field
  • Lean Six Sigma and Continuous Improvement certifications
  • Project Management and Quality Management experience
