Job Description Your Team Reporting to the Assistant Controller, the Accountant plays a key role in maintaining the financial integrity of the division. Responsible for a range of functions including transaction processing, financial reporting, and compliance, the ideal candidate will apply their knowledge of accounting principles and proficiency in computerized systems to ensure accuracy and efficiency. The Accountant will actively contribute to improving processes, supporting audits, and ensuring compliance, making it a dynamic and impactful position within the organization. Prepare/assist with recurring and non-recurring journal entries to include but not limited to: Cost of Sales Monthly/quarterly accruals Sales and purchases of housing and land units Corporate credit card and employee reimbursements Bi-weekly sales commissions Cash transactions Maintain the integrity and accuracy of data in the ERP system Conduct and support the preparation of monthly account reconciliations Compile and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports Compile monthly, quarterly, and annual reports for sales and use taxes, gross receipts taxes, and real estate taxes Assist with the preparation of business licenses and annual renewals Assist in preparation of quarterly forecast reports Support accounting team in administering internal controls Must Haves Accounting designation or in progress, with 2-3 years of experience, or a similar combination of education and experience Strong understanding of accounting principles and computerized systems Demonstrated ability to effectively prioritize tasks, manage concurrent deadlines, and operate efficiently in a fast-paced environment Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook Your Opportunity - US We are proud to offer our employees what they value most: Competitive compensation Excellent extended medical, dental and vision benefits beginning day 1 Paid parental leave Family planning assistance including IVF, surrogacy and adoptions options Wellness and mental health resources Pet insurance offering A culture based on our values of Passion, Integrity and Community Annual Salary Range: $75,000 to $85,000 Eligible Bonus: 15% #BPDG #LI-JK1 Brookfield Properties participates in the E-Verify process to confirm the eligibility of candidates to work in the United States.
