We are seeking a skilled and passionate Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) or experienced Veterinary Assistant to join our Surgery Department. The ideal candidate will have experience as a surgical veterinary technician, has experience monitoring patients under general anesthesia in a fast-paced environment and a passion for providing high-quality care to animals and our clients. As an integral part of our team, you will work closely with Veterinarians, Veterinary Technicians, Assistants, and other staff members.

**Compensation :**

**Credentialed Veterinary Technicians** **$29.50 - $35.00**

**Veterinary Assistant** **$20.00 - $30.00**

**ALL dependent on education, experience, credentials, location, nature of practice, schedule and additional responsibilities.**

**Key Responsibilities:**

+ Assist with physical examinations with the veterinarian and doctors assistant

+ Strong communication skills and the ability to compassionately interact and educate clients.

+ Managing medical records, reports and correspondence

+ Prepare surgical suites and equipment for procedures

+ Assist veterinarians during surgical procedures, including patient monitoring, anesthesia administration, and surgical instrument preparation

+ Monitoring general anesthesia plays an important role in this position. This includes heart rate, end-tidal carbon dioxide, respiratory rate, blood pressure, and temperature.

+ Recognize and respond promptly to changes in patient status, taking appropriate action to ensure patient safety.

+ Accurately document anesthesia protocols, patient information, and vital signs.

+ Maintain detailed records of medications administered and any complications or issues encountered during procedures.

+ Maintain accurate medical records and ensure proper documentation of anesthesia during surgical procedures

+ Flexibility in scheduling and multitasking capabilities in a fast-paced environment.

+ Collaborate with the veterinary team to ensure a safe and sterile surgical environment

**Collaboration:**

+ Work closely with doctors and team members to coordinate and optimize patient care.

+ Communicate effectively with the team regarding anesthesia concerns and patient status.

**Skills:**

+ Venipuncture

+ Laboratory work

+ Pharmacology

+ Surgical preparation and assisting

+ Surgical running

+ Patient recovery

+ Compassionate care for our hospitalized patient

+ Obtain patient vitals

+ Maintain accurate and complete medical records

+ Assisting our Doctor and Technical staff as needed with patient care

+ Maintain a clean work environment to maintain any infectious disease protocols, handle medical/biomedical and infectious waste appropriately

+ Maintain inventory and supplies for procedures and patient husbandry.

**Qualifications:**

+ Current and valid Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) license or minimum of 2 years of technical related duties.

+ Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and common conditions.

+ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

+ Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.

+ Compassionate and empathetic attitude towards animals and their owners.

+ Knowledge and experience with handling and administering different drugs and following safety protocols.
