SEC Segment Reporting Analyst- Temp

Working within the Financial Planning and Analysis team, the SEC Segment reporting analyst is responsible for the disclosure of financial information by reportable segment. This role requires deep banking industry experience, strong Finance and Accounting knowledge as well EPM software experience.

Responsibilities:

Segment reporting readiness

  • Participate in the SEC Segment reporting readiness project, including the revision and update of Funds Transfer pricing and cost allocation methodologies.
  • Develop and implement a capital allocation methodology to allocate capital across the business segments.
  • Produce full balance sheets per reportable segment, including loans, total assets, deposits, and capital.
  • Develop a loan loss provision allocation methodology under CECL.
  • Research and compare peers segment reporting and disclosures for benchmark purposes.
  • Work in the preparation of prior three years of segment results, applying the most recent organizational structure.

Ongoing Segment reporting

  • Assist in the preparation of financial statements and metrics by reportable segment as part of SEC filings (10-Q and 10-K), ensuring compliance with SEC regulations, particularly with segment reporting requirements under ASC 280.
  • Analyze and review data for financial reporting, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of SEC filings.
  • Prepare and review quarterly tables, ensuring the completeness of data and disclosures in SEC filings.
  • Assist with technical accounting standards, updating policies and procedures.
  • Support with the enhancement and implementation of internal controls.
  • Conduct research on SEC guidance related to segment reporting and propose recommendations and enhancements.

Minimum Education and/or Certifications Requirements:

Bachelors degree in business or accounting. Ideal post-graduate degree or certification, such as MBA or MS.

Minimum Work Experience Requirements:

Three to five years of finance and banking experience including experience in SEC reporting or Segment reporting.

Technical and/or Other Essential Knowledge:

Knowledge of a EPM software such as AXIOM EPM, SAP, Oracle or similar.

Advanced knowledge of MS Office and experience with Wdesk (Workiva) is preferred.

Excellent inter-personal and communication skills, both verbal and written.

Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and ability to multi-task

Ability to work under pressure (tight deadlines, shifting priorities, differences of opinion).

Knowledge of banking products, services, and systems.

Strong technical accounting background with knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and financial reporting requirements. WDesk (Workiva) experience is preferred.
