Role and Responsibilities

The Sr. Database Developer will be responsible for designing and building databases/data warehouses to store and manage healthcare claims and financial data. This position will analyze data, develop, test, and implement processes to load it, and assist with reporting. This person will have a strong understanding of RDBMS/Data Warehouse concepts, along with knowledge of claims or financial data.

Responsibilities:

PRIMARY DUTIES

  • Analyze Healthcare data, architect and design data models, and create databases/data warehouses
  • Design and develop ETL processes necessary to load this data to the Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW)
  • Implement, schedule, monitor and support all related processes, applications and databases
  • Build indexes and fine tune queries to ensure performance needs are met
  • Collaborate closely with reporting team to create data mart to support reporting and analysis needs
  • Perform advanced data analysis, identify issues and data gaps, and help provides insights
  • Implement and support Master Data Management processes
  • Ensure flexibility, scalability, consistency and quality when build solutions
  • Follow best practices for development, QA, deployment, source code management
  • Manage source code, conduct code reviews, and test
  • Monitor and support processes/jobs, and follow up on
  • Coordinate closely with other developers to streamline processes and optimize
  • Gain strong knowledge of underlying data and business rules, and assist other teams
  • Adopt agile methodology, and assist in tracking and communicating progress of deliverables


Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications and Requirements

  • 5+ years experience in designing/modeling, and building data warehouses and data marts
  • 5+ years' experience building stored procs, tables, views, functions, in MS SQL Server
  • 2+ years experience working with Healthcare claims or Financial data
  • Demonstrated knowledge of data warehousing concepts and methodologies, technologies, and tools
  • Bachelors degree or equivalent combinations of education and experience
  • Demonstrated ability to understand, discuss and document complex data models
  • Excellent communications skills, both, written and oral
  • Ability to manage and complete multiple concurrent projects in a timely manner
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills

Preferred Experience

  • Experience working with Azure DevOps
  • Experience working with Azure Data Factory highly desired
  • Experience building Power BI Reports is a plus
