What does a Pre-Owned Sales Manager do?

At Bobby Rahal Automotive Group, we are all about relationship building and if our reputation in the community is any indication, our clients truly appreciate the approach. The Pre-Owned Sales Manager will be responsible for obtaining, reconditioning, pricing, and selling pre-owned inventory along with guiding Sales Consultants in the sales process. We're looking for a genuine, self-motivated, and passionate individual to manage the overall pre-owned department. As a Pre-Owned Sales Manager you will:

  • Obtain inventory through trade appraisals, direct purchases, and wholesale buys.
  • Partner with the service department and with vendors to ensure all vehicles meet our strict quality standards.
  • Utilize appropriate tools to catalog, price, photograph, display, and advertise the inventory.
  • Ensure that our Sales Consultants satisfy the transportation needs of our clients.
  • Assist in structuring the financial layout and explanation of all deals.
  • Attend ongoing training to remain knowledgeable of new products and features.
  • Monitor CRM usage of Sales Consultants and complete manager follow-up tasks.
What are the educational/experience requirements needed to be a Pre-Owned Sales Manager?
  • Minimum of two years prior automotive management experience is required for this position (pre-owned experience preferred).
  • Prior car sales experience is required for this position (pre-owned experience preferred).
What are the general requirements of this position?
  • A positive attitude and desire to help others are absolute musts, and you should really be comfortable talking with different people from all walks of life.
  • Open availability, including evenings and Saturdays.
  • A valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
  • Current PA Vehicle Sales License.
  • The ability to lead a team of sales consultants and maintain a steady turn of pre-owned inventory.
