About This Role:
Veranex has an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Software Engineering Intern. You will be part of a team working to improve lives globally through medical technology innovation. The Software Engineering Intern will be responsible for assisting with development of software projects. We are looking for interns who can communicate well, both with other members of the software team and with non-software coworkers (electrical and mechanical engineering teams, test engineers, and product managers).
What You Will Do:
- Maintaining existing software
- Participating in active project development lifecycles
- Developing unit tests
- Drafting clear and concise documentation
- Ensuring all software satisfies quality standards
- Performing other duties as assigned.
Required skills:
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field
- Significant experience with at least one of the following primary languages (C/C++ for firmware development, or python/Javascript/C# for application development, Java or Swift for Mobile app development)
- Some experience with at least one additional language: React, React Native
- Strong understanding of OOP
- Understanding of SQL databases
- Understanding of multithreaded software concepts
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Willing and able to learn in a fast-paced environment
- Familiarity with Medical Devices / Safety Critical software development
- Understanding of electronics, digital communications, and common protocols
- Experience developing embedded firmware
- Strong grasp of scripting languages such as Python
- Experience with most/all of the primary languages listed above
- Web development skills
- Robotics or Motor Control skills
