Chief Information Officer & Chief Information Security Officer (CIO/CISO) Posted on: Feb 25, 2022 Apply for this job Profile The South Dakota Board of Regents invites inquiries, applications, and nominations for the position of Chief Information Officer & Chief Information Security Officer (CIO/CISO). DSU seeks a strategic thought leader, collaborative campus partner, and proven administrator with an innovative, consistent track record of quality improvement and data-driven decisions. The CIO/CISO has frequent interaction with Regents’ staff and serves on the system-wide Technology Affairs Council (TAC). This cabinet-level leader is part of the University leadership team, responsible for providing leadership, support, and intellectual tools that will help solidify and grow a unique and innovative set of initiatives. Position Description: Key duties of the CIO/CISO include: Leading, directing, and managing campus data communications, academic technology, administrative systems, financial technology, training, user support, and IT security systems. Serving as an institutional expert on the impact of emerging trends in the information technology field in higher education. Defining and setting policies and standards regarding computing services and use of information technology. Overseeing the design and implementation of new applications and changes to existing computer systems and software. Providing tactical and strategic planning for the ongoing management of cybersecurity platforms. Assessing hardware, software, and services for security strengths/risks and information security features. Leading areas of risk management, disaster recovery planning, and business continuity planning for IT services. Required Qualifications: The ideal candidate must have strong written and verbal communication skills, organizational skills, leadership skills, and the ability to articulate IT vision for a progressive IT organization. The successful candidate will demonstrate the following minimum qualifications: Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Network & Security Administration, or closely related discipline. Ten years of experience in Information Technology, including the supervision of an IT department. Proven information technology leader with a broad range of technology experience.
