Position Summary:

Our Greenville, South Carolina office has the opportunity for a Staff Accountant to join the Firms expanding practice. This position will report to the General Accounting Manager and be responsible for a wide range of accounting tasks.

Essential Functions:
  • Complete daily bank account reconciliations for our disbursement account, including researching variances, returned payments including checks and ACHs, and any other discrepancies as needed.
  • Approve daily bank transactions initiated by administrative departments (Accounts Payable, HR/Payroll, International Accounting and Budgeting).
  • Initiate and/or approve wire/ACH transactions between bank accounts as required and post journal entry.
  • Prepare and post journal entries such as bank fees, medical administrative fees, payroll tax and other direct debit journal entries as needed.
  • Complete balance sheet account reconciliations and analysis each month, including research and correction by journal entry, if needed, of variances.
  • Prepare and file sales/use tax returns (monthly/quarterly/annual basis).
  • Prepare sales/use tax annual budget.
  • Assist with preparation of the consolidated annual audit requirements.
Requirements:
  • 3+ years of accounting experience with 2+ years of higher education, or 5+ of accounting experience without higher education.
  • Knowledge basic accounting knowledge.
  • Communication - listens and gets clarification. Responds to inquiries quickly with professionalism and tact. Writes clearly and informatively. Able to read and interpret information accurately and concisely. Maintains confidentiality.
  • Organization skills - able to organize, manage, and handle numerous projects/tasks in fast-paced environment. Detail oriented.
  • Teamwork willing and eager to help others.
  • Dependability follows instructions, responds to management direction. Willing to commit to additional hours when necessary to reach Firm objectives.
  • Initiative asks for and offers help when needed.
