Position Description

The OS1 Custodian is responsible for performing four specialist positions in the team cleaning concept of the OS1 Cleaning Systems. OS1 (Operating System 1) is a standardized, engineered cleaning process.

**Essential Duties and Responsibilities:**

* OS1 Light Duty Specialist (LDS) - Above floor cleaner who is responsible for three main functions: Dusting, spot cleaning, and trash removal. The LDS prepares the way for the OS1 Vacuum Specialist to remove loose floor soil.

* OS1 Vacuum Specialist (VS) The VS is a professional position in the team cleaning concept of the OS1 Cleaning System. The VS removes from the facility dirt, dust, and debris and is focused on carpets and floors using the backpack vacuum following the Light Duty Specialist.

* OS1 Restroom Specialist (RS) - The RS is a professional position in the team cleaning concept of the OS1 Cleaning System. The RS cleans and disinfects on a regular basis the lavatory area and is responsible for high, low, wet, and dry cleaning.

* OS1 Utility Specialist (US) The US is a professional position in the team cleaning concept of the OS1 Cleaning System. The US has three dimensions of cleaning to be aware of: tasks, space coverage, and time allotment. This breaks down into routine or daily tasks, detail or weekly tasks, project, or periodic tasks.

Position Requirements

**Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:**

* Requires one year of custodial experience, including stripping and waxing floors, commercial carpet cleaning, and ability to operate commercial cleaning machines

* Must be flexible and customer oriented

* Must be able to read and comprehend job related documents such as Safety Data Sheets, OS1 Scouting Report, Request Forms, Equipment Check-in Check-out Logs, SDS, Flow Chart, Core Maps, Job Cards.

* Must use all OS1 prescribed equipment, i.e., backpack vacuum.

* Must be able to follow the OS1 cleaning process.

* Must be able to pass computer-based training.

* Must have a valid drivers license.

**Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:**

* Completion of OS1 Boot Camp

* Experienced OS1 Hands-On Training

* Participated in an In-House Audit

* Familiar with the Team Checklist
