POSITION OVERVIEW

The HR Generalist is responsible in assisting the HR Director and the Assistant HR manager with most functions of Human Resources including all administrative functions, recruiting elements, application processing, housing, insurance enrollment, workers comp accident reporting, staff events, training.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Assist with all administrative and clerical functions including answering phones, filing, creating employee handbooks, new hire paperwork
Assist with the recruiting process by responding to inquiry emails in a timely manner, printing resumes and applications, and processing necessary background checks
Assist with recruiting efforts online, through newspaper ads, source other recruiting options and attend career fairs
Complete all required new hire paperwork and update personnel systems relating to new hires, change of address
Assist with processing workers compensation claims and maintain files
Maintains personnel records and files in an organized and confidential manner
Assist new hires with housing assignments and finding alternative housing options
Assist with new hire on boarding program; conduct portions of the new hire program and coordinate with other departments to ensure proper on boarding is achieved
Assist with managing the Health and Safety Program to ensure that all employees have a safe work environment
Assist with facilitation of employee recognition programs

and onboarding trainings
Assist with staff recreation program; will periodically drive staff to surrounding area for shopping or sightseeing trips
Respond to questions from employees regarding Human Resource programs, policies, and procedures
Conducts exit interviews and ensures that all related paperwork is completed
Will be the point contact for the HR department when HR Director and HR Generalist are away
Attending job fairs, conferences, and local HR meetings as required
Follow up on training initiatives and ensure completion

QUALIFICATIONS

Position requires at least 1 year experience in Human Resources or other relevant office-related positions
Must have excellent organizational skills and knowledge of standard filing systems with excellent verbal and written skills
Must be proficient with Microsoft Word, Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Internet
Must always handle sensitive information in a confidential manner
Ability to multi task in a fast paced environment
