One of Medix's top ranked clients is one of the largest healthcare providers within the South. They are expanding due to acquisition and looking at bringing in an experienced Palo Alto Network Engineer for a 1 year long contract opportunity. Our client is eager to hire someone in to hit the ground running. The ideal candidate will have prior expertise and working experience within Palo Alto networking and firewalls, ability to configure BGPs & VPNs, and provide exceptional support throughout their 3 data centers located between TN & Georgia.

Day to Day responsibilities:
  • Maintaining and developing the organization's network infrastructure to ensure stability and integrity including planning and designing their LAN & WAN environments
  • Maintaining network hardware and software including data servers and network equipment and monitoring the network performance and troubleshooting any issues that arise via tickets or alerts
  • Support the organizations Palo Alto environment supporting their firewall, provisioning, security measures, and integrations
  • Configuring, operating, and troubleshooting dynamic routing protocols including BGP and administering their firewalls
  • Receive incoming tickets and alerts when an issue is escalated from Tier 1-2 support
  • Physically installing and configuring IT equipment in the clients multiple data centers
  • Ability to travel and provide onsite support when needed, and participate in an on call rotation when applicable
Requirements:
  • Minimum of 5 years experience working as a Network Engineer
  • Previous experience and knowledge of Palo Alto firewalls including setting up, regulating, implementing access control policies, configuring BGPs, and VPNs, managing intrusion prevention and detection
  • Extensive knowledge with BGPs and designating routing policies
  • Experience scheduling network upgrades and working with third party vendors
  • Ability to work onsite when needed and travel to data centers within Georgia and Tennessee
  • Ability to participate in an on-call rotation schedule


Compensation for this role is based off experience and will be based off requirements ranging from $40-50/hour W2.
