Speech Language Pathologist

The Speech Language Pathologist at our community hospital provides evaluations and therapies to improve patients' speech and language skills. This role involves interdisciplinary collaboration, supervision of students, and education of patients and families to promote recovery. With strong communication skills and the ability to travel between sites, the professional will contribute to patient engagement and care excellence.

Graduate of an accredited program of Speech Language Pathology with a minimum of a M.Holds current Connecticut license for Speech Language Pathology. Certificate of Clinical Competency from the American Speech Language and Hearing Association. COMPETENCIES: This position requires an individual with strong English communication skills, both verbal and written. Must have basic personal computer skills in the use of Windows based programs such as Word, Outlook and Excel as needed for department functions. Must have access to reliable transportation to travel between multiple work sites; and travel is required in order to perform essential duties. Conducts and modifies evaluations based on the patient#s symptoms, level of activity, and medical status establishing individualized, appropriate, measurable goals for each patient. Utilizes effective techniques to assist in normalizing speech and language activity. Documents in accordance to insurance guidelines and adheres to the department#s policies and procedures. Adheres to the professional code of ethics established by the ASHA and the facility at all times as evidenced by observation. Supervises at least one affiliated student per year. Attends a continuing education course to further/improve treatment techniques.
