Tasks
  • Conduct preliminary eye exams and collect patient medical histories
  • Assist ophthalmologists with diagnostic tests and procedures
  • Operate and maintain ophthalmic equipment, such as visual field analyzers and tonometers
  • Provide patient education on eye care, treatment options, and post-procedural instructions
  • Manage patient records and ensure accurate documentation of test results and treatments
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent; certification as an Ophthalmic Technician is preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in an ophthalmology or optometry setting.
  • Proficiency in conducting preliminary eye examinations and diagnostic tests.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to provide excellent patient care.
  • Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems and basic computer skills.
