**Job description**

**Position Summary**

As a Commercial Landscape Construction Estimator, you will play a crucial role in Caretaker Landscape & Tree Management by providing accurate and detailed cost estimates for landscape construction projects. You will collaborate with clients, project managers, and landscape designers to develop comprehensive proposals that meet client expectations and company standards. This position requires a strong understanding of landscaping practices, plant materials, irrigation systems, and construction methods specific to Arizona's unique climate and environment.

**Estimation and Proposal Development**:

- Collaborate with clients, project managers, and landscape designers to understand project requirements and objectives
- Conduct site visits to assess existing landscape conditions, measurements, and potential enhancements
- Prepare OST takeoffs when client submits formal landscape plans
- Prepare basic landscape drawings
- Prepare accurate and detailed cost estimates for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor services
- Develop comprehensive proposals that include project scope, materials, timeline, and pricing

**Project Coordination**:

- Communicate and collaborate with internal teams, including Project Managers and Field Superintendent, to ensure a smooth transition from estimation to project execution
- Provide necessary documentation, plans, and specifications to support project implementation
- Work alongside each department to educate each team member on the scope of work included

**Client Relationship Management**:

- Engage with clients to understand their vision, preferences, and budgetary constraints.
- Present proposals and cost estimates to clients, addressing any questions or concerns they may have
- Build and maintain strong client relationships, ensuring customer satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle

**Industry Knowledge and Continuous Improvement**:

- Stay updated on current landscaping trends, materials, and best practices relevant to the Arizona region
- Attend industry conferences, workshops, and training sessions to enhance professional skills and knowledge
- Share expertise and insights with the team, contributing to the overall improvement of the landscape company's operations

**Knowledge/Skills/Abilities/Competencies**
- A strong understanding of landscaping practices, plant materials, irrigation systems, and construction methods specific to Arizona's unique climate and environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with clients, project teams, and subcontractors
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to produce accurate and comprehensive cost estimates
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet competing deadlines
- Demonstrated ability to consistently deliver accurate estimations while setting realistic expectations of the company’s ability to deliver these products and /or services
- Excellent time management, problem-solving, decision making, presentation and organizational skills

**Education/Experience/Licenses**
- Bachelor's degree in landscape architecture, horticulture, or a related field - _preferred_
- 2+ years proven experience in landscape estimation and proposal development - _required_
- Strong knowledge of Arizona-specific landscaping practices, plant materials, irrigation systems, and construction methods - _required_
- Demonstrated on Screen Take-Off experience - _required_
- Familiarity with local building codes, regulations, and permitting processes - _required_
- Valid Driver License and acceptable motor vehicle record - _required_
- 21+ years of age
- _required_

**Supervisory Responsibilities**
- N/A

**Work Environment**
- Work will be performed in the office and out in the field for jobsite walks

**Physical Requirements**
- Must be able to sit, stand, bend, lift, push, pull, stoop, walk, and move frequently during working hours
- Must be able to lift 30 lbs. floor to waist, lift 10 lbs. waist to shoulder, lift and carry 30 lbs., and push/pull 40 lbs
- In this role during job site walks, you will frequently stand, walk, climb or crouch on narrow and/or slippery surfaces; stoop, kneel, bend to pick up or move objects; walk for long distances and on sloped ground and uneven surfaces
- When working in the field you will be working in conditions of extreme heat, wind, rain and must be able to be in direct sunlight for potentially several hours at a time
- The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job
