**POSITION OPEN DUE TO PROMOTION**

**Position Summary**

The Junior Estimator collaborates with estimators, project managers, pre-con team, and account managers to produce accurate, concise, and consistent Landscape Construction estimates. In this role, The Junior Estimator is responsible for providing accurate bid proposals in conjunction with providing Preconstruction support. This includes preparing estimates, quantity take-offs, bid leveling, supporting documentation, pricing analysis, schedules, and interface with subcontractor/vendor relations.

- Learns essential estimator functions
- Under mentorship, will be responsible for deciding project material requirements and labor needs using excel spreadsheets, construction takeoff, workflow, and estimating software as well as utilizing company provided enterprise resource planning software
- Estimate projects with oversight while learning estimating practices and processes
- Develops estimate spreadsheets based on quantity take-offs and obtain material pricing
- Reads and comprehends architectural and structural drawings as well as product specifications
- Prepare work to be estimated by gathering proposals, drawings, specifications, and related documents
- Attend pre-bid meetings
- Identify labor, material, and time requirements by studying proposals, drawings, specifications, and related documents
- Estimate costs by analyzing labor, material, and time requirements
- Prepare quantity take-offs for use in development of vendor or subcontractor RFPs
- Present completed estimates by assembling and displaying numerical and descriptive information
- Prepare special reports to summarize information and trends
- Participate in proposal development effort
- Completes all estimates in a predetermined and structured time frame
- Performs special projects and other duties as assigned

**Knowledge/Skills/Abilities/Competencies**
-  Must possess strong technology skills and be an Excel Spreadsheet guru
- Be an avid learner, and grasp quickly new software and concepts
- The ability to learn to read and understand architectural and structural plans, details and specifications, and measurements and scales
- Ability to consistently deliver accurate estimations while setting realistic expectations of the company’s ability to deliver these products and /or services
- Excellent communication skills to gain agreement or acceptance of ideas, plans, activities, products, and services
- Excellent time management, problem-solving, decision making, presentation and organizational skills
- Strong MS Office skills including Word, Excel, and Outlook

**Education/Experience/Licenses**
- 2+ years of college in technology or construction/related field with strong technology emphasis - preferred
- 1+ year experience in LANDSCAPE CONSTRUCTION or ENHANCEMENTS - required

**Work Environment**
-  Work will be performed in office with occasional work done in the field. Work done in the field will be in varying weather including direct sun, heat, dust, rain, cold and below freezing temperatures

**Physical Requirements**
- Work is performed in an office environment and requires the ability to operate standard office equipment and keyboards. Must have the ability to walk short distances, exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Repetitive motion. Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers. The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading.
- In this role during job site walks, you will frequently stand, walk, climb or crouch on narrow and/or slippery surfaces; stoop, kneel, bend to pick up or move objects; walk for long distances and on sloped ground and uneven surfaces.

**Travel Required**
- Minimal in-state travel based on business needs

Pay: $50,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
