**Essential Functions**:
**Domestic Violence Advocate Responsibilities**:
- Offer direct support, advocacy, and crisis intervention to survivors of domestic violence and their families, ensuring their immediate safety and well-being.
- Collaborate closely with interdisciplinary teams, including therapists, case managers, law enforcement, and legal representatives, to coordinate holistic care and comprehensive services for survivors.
- Conduct thorough assessments of survivors' emotional, psychological, and physical needs, creating individualized safety plans and intervention strategies.
- Deliver trauma-informed services and evidence-based interventions tailored to the unique needs of domestic violence survivors.
- Assist survivors in navigating legal processes, including court appearances, obtaining orders of protection, and accessing victim compensation resources.
- Lead support groups and workshops to empower survivors with knowledge, coping skills, and community resources.
- Develop and maintain an up-to-date understanding of available community resources for domestic violence survivors.
- Maintain accurate and confidential case records, documenting interventions, progress, and outcomes as required by grant guidelines.
- Collaborate with community partners and organizations to enhance the community's response to domestic violence and identify areas where services can be improved.
- Provide data and information for grant reporting purposes, ensuring timely and accurate reporting of grant-related activities.
**Domestic Violence Qualifications**:
- Proficient understanding of trauma-informed care principles and evidence-based interventions for survivors of domestic violence.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish trust and build supportive relationships with survivors, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Knowledge of relevant state and federal laws and regulations pertaining to domestic violence, victim services, and confidentiality.
- Ability to maintain organized and accurate case documentation.
- Ability to work independently, make informed decisions, and manage competing priorities.
- Cultural sensitivity and a commitment to promoting inclusivity and equity.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and case management software.
- H.A.S. requires all staff work onsite.
**Education and Experience Requirements**:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in domestic violence advocacy, victim services, or related fields.
