Please note: We are open to applicants from across the USA, as these roles can be fulfilled either in an Aon office (Chicago, Minneapolis, NY, Atlanta) within our new SmartWorking hybrid program or virtually for the right candidate.

In this role, you will work closely with the sales team to provide world class customer experience and be a part of the best-in-class client services team in the reinsurance industry. We are looking for a candidate who is prepared to oversee the activities of pro-rata treaties and premium for XOL reinsurance contracts. You are excited to lead a team of technicians, mentees and junior advocates to support our clients while being the dedicated advocate for your clients. You will continue to build and implement your individual career development plan with dedicated mentors that will assist you along the way.

The primary responsibilities for this experienced reinsurance accounting position are listed below.

  • Lead the reinsurance assets of our valued clients, including Fortune 500 companies
  • Your leadership will ensure that all premium activities for your clients are handled timely and accurately
  • Oversee and manage premium in excess of $50m on behalf of your dedicated clients
  • Work closely with the sales team to provide world class customer experience
  • Assist your clients with contractual requirements as you help them navigate complex accounting issues
  • Be part of a team that handles over $20B in ceded reserves per year
  • Manage collateral on behalf of your clients
  • Opportunity to travel domestically to meet with clients and markets
  • Mentor a team of technicians and/or junior advocates that support our clients wherein you are the dedicated advocate for your clients
  • Become a subject matter authority and/or inspiring leader in reinsurance accounting
  • Develop excellent communication skills with client, brokers and reinsurers, through critical correspondence, presentations and meetings.
  • Participate in various local or global committees
  • Attend industry and client conferences
  • Excellent on-boarding program and continuous training opportunities
Desired Experience
  • Bachelors degree (BA/BS) in Finance, Accounting, Math or similar degree from a four-year college or equivalent experience
  • You bring experience in insurance, accounting, reinsurance, claims, reinsurance accounting and/or broker client services preferred
  • Intermediate knowledge of MS Office suite of products, advanced in excel
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both oral and written)
  • Ability to think strategically and analytically
  • Organized with strong attention to detail
  • Professional demeanor with positive attitude.
  • Ability to work with a global and domestic team
  • Strong work ethic with the ability to work independently and multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to train and mentor others
  • Insurance and/or Reinsurance experience preferred
