**Accounts Receivable Specialist**
**Location**: New York/Hybrid Remote
**About the Role**
Here is hiring for an Accounts Receivable Specialist to join our team The Accounts Receivable (AR) Specialist will play a crucial role in maintaining the strong financial health of the organization. The person in this seat is responsible for managing the full scope of our accounts receivable process, which will include invoicing, collections, and reconciliations. Working closely with clients on receivables and maintaining accurate records of transactions, will be at the core of this position's success.
**Responsibilities**
- Generate and send accurate and timely invoices to clients
- Work closely with clients to ensure outstanding payments are collected in an efficient and timely manner, following up on overdue payments as needed
- Reconcile the accounts receivable ledger to ensure all payments are accounted for and properly posted
- Investigate and resolve payment discrepancies and billing errors
- Collaborate with internal teams, such as sales and customer service, to resolve customer inquiries or disputes
- Monitor accounts receivable aging reports and take appropriate actions to minimize outstanding balances
- Prepare and analyze AR aging reports for management review
- Assist with any month-end closing processes related to accounts receivable
- Continuously look for ways to identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices to streamline AR operations
- Assist in ad-hoc projects spanning across other areas of the finance function as needed
**What We're Looking For**
- 5+ years in an AR position with prior experience and a strong comfort level with owning the AR process from beginning to end
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred but not required
- A solid understanding of accounting principles and best practices
- Proficiency in accounting software, specifically with tools tailored toward medium-sized businesses such as Quickbooks, Ordway, Netsuite, Microsoft Dynamics or similar
- You will be interacting with clients on a regular basis and should be comfortable with following up on outstanding payments. This will include having excellent communication, customer service and interpersonal skills
- An ability to work independently, remain organized, with a high attention to detail, while prioritizing tasks effectively and managing competing deadlines
