Tumor Registrar

Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Tumor Registrar to join our team. The Tumor Registrar will be responsible for collecting, analyzing, and maintaining data on cancer patients for medical research, treatment, and health care planning purposes.

**Responsibilities**:

- Collect and analyze patient data from medical records, pathology reports, and other sources
- Code patient information using ICD-9 and ICD-10 classification systems
- Enter data into cancer registry databases for research and reporting purposes
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of data collected
- Collaborate with medical staff to clarify information and resolve discrepancies
- Maintain confidentiality and security of patient information
- Stay current with industry standards and regulations related to tumor registry

**Skills**:

- Proficiency in coding and classifying medical data
- Strong analytical skills to interpret complex medical information
- Familiarity with medical terminology, anatomy, and disease processes
- Experience with data collection and management systems
- Knowledge of ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding systems
- Previous experience in a medical office or healthcare setting is a plus

**Job Type**: Contract

Pay: $45.00 - $50.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift
- Day shift

License/Certification:

- BLS Certification (preferred)
- RHIA (preferred)
- RHIT (preferred)
- Tumor Registry certification (required)

Ability to Relocate:

- Bronx, NY: Relocate before starting work (required)
