Job Description:
Cancer registries are vital resources for furthering cancer research and treatment, and we are seeking a diligent Cancer Registrar to enter patient information into our registry.
  • Position: Certified Tumor/Cancer Registrar
  • Location:  Bronx, NY 10461
  • Max Payrate: Ranges b/w $ 25-35/hr. on W2 (negotiable)
  • Note: 2 month position with a possibility of extension
Responsibilities:
  • Gathering information from doctors, medical records, patients, and their families.
  • Updating and maintaining the cancer registry.
  • Contacting discharged patients and their families for follow-up information.
  • Preparing reports and graphic representations of the registry data.
  • Complying with government regulations and medical ethics.
  • Three years' experience Tumor Registry experience in an acute care hospital or equivalent abstracting experience.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy and physiology.
  • Gather and abstract information from medical records, pathology reports, and other sources related to cancer diagnosis, treatment, and outcomes.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential cancer registry databases, ensuring data integrity and compliance with regulatory standards and reporting requirements.
  • Conduct follow-up activities to track cancer patients' treatment outcomes, survival rates, and recurrence, ensuring completeness and accuracy of long-term follow-up data.
 
Skills: Three years' experience of Tumor Registry in an acute care hospital or equivalent abstracting experience. Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy and physiology. Including;
