**This job will be a hybrid part-time position with no faculty appointment**
The Special Assistant for Interprofessional Education is a key member of the education leadership team, reporting to the VP/Chief Education & Training Officer (VP-CETO). In this role, the Special Assistant for Interprofessional Education will serve as a leadership dyad for Education Development & Innovation. This dyad will be responsible for setting priorities and for the effective operations for interprofessional education. The Special Assistant will work closely with the VP-CETO and the Director for Education Development & Innovation. The Special Assistant will have regular and consistent contact with institutional members and important stakeholders to advance interprofessional education development.
KEY FUNCTIONS
The Special Assistant will have the following job-specific responsibilities that are shared with the EDI director:
- Designing programs & developing resources offered by the institution for interprofessional education;
- Evaluating interprofessional education & training activities at MD Anderson, demonstrating their impact, and identifying & addressing gaps & needs of institutional members;
- Developing effective strategies for the recruitment of institutional members for interprofessional education training programs;
- Identifying key areas of clinical support to guide decision making for education & training;
- Providing education oversight & expertise around teamwork & key IPE concepts;
- Advising with respect to correct assessment & evaluation measures;
- Reviewing and leading design for IPE simulation training;
- Guiding the Education & Training IPE team to advance clinical skills training;
- Identifying and conducting research support & resources for IPE projects; and
- Enhancing professional development around IPE.

MARGINAL FUNCTIONS
The Special Assistant will have the following job-specific responsibilities that are shared with the EDI director:
- Supporting research, grant opportunities & implementation of interprofessional education activities;
- Fostering a sense of community, shared experiences, & expectations among education & training stakeholders;
- Promoting the engagement of education & research surrounding interprofessional education to stakeholders; and
- Special projects assigned by the VP-CETO while collaborating with internal stakeholders with common interests & responsibilities.
EDUCATION
Required: Ph.D., M.D., or M.D./Ph.D.
EXPERIENCE
Required: Previous work in a clinical setting and experience with teamwork training.
