Status: Hourly, part-time, no benefits, $18.00 hour

Hours per week vary within Monday
- Friday 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM

Seeking Tuesday and Thursday 12:00pm-4:00pm

**SUMMARY**:
The Council on Aging is a service-driven and dynamic department whose goal is to educate, entertain and enhance the lives of older adults. This position requires an energetic, pro-active professional to balance and prioritize situations calmly and efficiently, while adhering to high standards of customer service. This position reports directly to the Executive Director.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Opening or closing Milano Center building
- Respond promptly, sensitively and constructively to citizen inquiries, while maintaining the ability of not taking other’s behavior personally
- Provide customer service with tact, courtesy, sensitivity and discretion in all dealings with internal and external customers.
- Provide information and accept reservation for programs
- Set up rooms for special programs - tables, chairs, DVD player, projection screen, etc.
- Introduce guest speakers and new program leaders
- Provide supervision/guidance for on duty volunteers
- Proactively and professionally handle program challenges that arise during shift with the ability to deescalate conflict
- Interact with service tracking computer software
- Typing/filing and data entry
- Other duties as assigned by the Executive Director

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communications skills
- Knowledge of customer service principles and demonstrated experience in providing customer service with tact, courtesy, sensitivity and discretion. Ability to answer telephones in a professional and courteous manner.
- Ability to work independently relying on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work under pressure in a dynamic and service driven departmentAttention to detail and accuracy.
- A minimum of basic computer skills required, proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn new software.
- Minimum high school graduate
- Ability to successfully pass a Criminal Records (CORI) check.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 5 - 18 per week
