**Description**

**GENERAL DESCRIPTION**: Provides complex (journey-level) photographic/video support for the Department including all requests by executive management. Duties include post-production work on photographs using specialized software such as Adobe Creative Cloud and others. Maintains database of photographs/video and is responsible for organizing and digitizing the department's photographic archives. Works under general supervision, with moderate latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.

**ESSENTIAL DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES**:
1. Photographs departmental portraiture, ceremonies, award presentations, and special events as requested. Ensures efficient and effective completion
of photographic requests, post-processing, inventory and maintenance of photographic equipment and supplies.

2. Evaluates and prioritizes work, determines equipment and material requirements and processes work orders to completion.

3. Operates different types of still cameras and other photographic equipment including studio lighting and portable lighting equipment. Maintains,
services, and performs basic repairs on photographic equipment.

4. Organizes and maintains the department's photo repository by digitizing and preserving current and historical photographs.

6. Trains on and utilizes specialized software to enhance images from various media types using digital enhancement. Maintains up-to-date knowledge
of current photographic methods and techniques.

7. Generates digital slides and presentations.

8. Participates in planning, organizing, instructing in and evaluating photography schools for law enforcement officers.

9. Attends work regularly and observe approved work hours in accordance with agency leave and attendance policies.

10. Performs other duties as assigned.

**Qualifications**

**GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS and REQUIREMENTS**:
**Education** - Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a Bachelor’s degree in Photography, Graphics, Film, Fine Arts, or other related discipline required.

**Experience** - Minimum of three (3) years’ experience performing audio/visual and media production techniques preferred.

**Licensure and/or Certification** - Must possess a valid driver license from state of residence.

**Regulatory knowledge** - Working knowledge of, or the ability to rapidly assimilate information related to TXDPS, State and Federal regulations, legislation, guidelines, policies and procedures.

**Technology **- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and appropriate levels of proficiency with utilized software and systems (e.g. CAPPS, SharePoint, Photoshop, Adobe) and be able to learn new software/systems. Knowledge of photography theories and practices. Knowledge of methods and techniques to photograph and retouch portraiture. Knowledge of the principles of graphic design, still, and video photographic techniques, and production methods and procedures.
