**Job Title: Golf Shop Attendant** **Effective Date: 01/2021**

**Property: The Club at Hammock Beach Department: Golf-Ops**

**Reports To: Golf Manager/Merchandise Manager** **FLSA Status: Hourly / Non-Exempt**

**POSITION OBJECTIVE**
The Retail Shop Attendant is responsible for assisting members and guests, answering telephones, processing sales transaction and assisting in receiving, tagging and controlling inventory.

**ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS**
- Approach all encounters with guests and fellow service professionals in an attentive, friendly, courteous and service oriented manner.
- Process transaction for all purchases.
- Be knowledgeable about and provide basic product information for guest and members.
- Assist the sales effort by providing information and communicating potential guest/member needs to retail manager.
- Handle all administrative function including answer telephones and processing of special orders, shipping requests, gift certificates and amenity request.
- Tag and place new merchandise on the floor.
- Ensure shop is prepared for proper opening and closing each day.
- Assist in setting up and maintain the cleanliness and orderliness of displays.
- Attend meetings/training as required by management.
- Perform other duties as requested by management.

**EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE**
- Golf retail experience preferred.
- Must be proficient with computers and POS systems.

**REQUIREMEMNTS**
- Flexible and long hours sometimes required.
- Must be able to convey information and ideas clearly.
- Must be able to show initiative in job performance, including anticipating what needs to be done before it becomes a necessity.
- Must be effective at listening to, understanding, and clarifying the concerns.
- Light work
- Exerting 20 pound of force occasionally, and/or 10 pound of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
- Ability to stand during entire shift.
- Must work well in stressful, high pressure situation.
- Must be detailed oriented, able to manage high volumes of data with a high degree of accuracy.
