**LAMP Youth Summer Program Coordinator Job Description**

**The Leadership ARTS Mentoring Program (LAMP) inspires and empowers Long Beach youth 14-24 years old by teaching leadership skills through digital media arts education (Film/TV Production, Graphic Design, Music Production, Photography). The mission of LAMP is to provide youth with transferable skills to help them achieve self-sustainability, overcome personal barriers, and contribute positively to their families and communities. This job description is intended to provide an overview of responsibilities and is not intended to be all inclusive. Employees are expected to perform additional duties as assigned to support the organization and its mission.**

**Reports to: Youth Services Program Manager**

**Hourly Rate: $22-$24 (Based on Experience)**

**Schedule: Monday - Friday 9:00-5:30pm**

**Start Date: May /June (Flexible)**

**End Date: August 13, 2024**

**Summary**:Performs a variety of duties assisting with the planning and implementation of activities for youth attending the Leadership Arts Mentoring Program (L.A.M.P). This position will assist the Youth Services Program Manager with promoting a positive program environment with other youth and adults.

**Specific Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Ensures the health, safety, and well-being of all youth during program hours.
- Oversee the effective implementation of all program’s operational activities.
- Assist Program Manager with recruitment activities for the program (outreach, marketing, interviewing and selection process)
- Assist Program Manager with the coordination and execution of off-site activities and events (field trips, program luncheon, and culmination ceremony)
- Assists in the distributions of Agency & LAMP program information to ensure parents are updated with activities/events.
- Responsible in creating general reports for program supervisor review.
- Problem solves, communicate effectively, manage time effectively.
- Support Program Instructors in managing their groups and ensuring a clean and safe work environment.
- Set-up and clean-up of program areas while ensuring proper care of program materials.
- Manage inventory tracking and quality control to ensure equipment protection and accountability.
- Ensures that youth attending is provided with a positive and learning environment.
- Ensures proper maintenance and accuracy of youth attendance records.
- Will be required to attend any agency events, meetings, and trainings.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

**Skills and Minimum Qualifications**:

- Possess a high school diploma or GED certificate.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience working with youth (preferably ages 13 and older)
- Minimum 1 year of experience working in youth program management or related services.
- Must have proficient administrative skills (filing, record keeping,)
- Proficient with Microsoft Word, Power Point, Excel and Outlook.
- Proactive in addressing the needs of management based on task pending.
- Ability to prepare written documents for presentations, and professional correspondence under the guidance of management.
- Ability to professionally communicate with parents, students, and agency personnel.
- Ability to work in a fast pace, and team orientated environment.
- Valid possession of a Class C California Driver’s License.


**Knowledge**:
Ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions; communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing; and establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.

**Work Environment**:
Work is performed in an office environment; frequent contact with other staff and the public; moderate level of noise. The nature of this position may also require you to working outdoors in all weather conditions including wet, hot, and cold.

**Physical Demands**:
Position requires sitting, standing, walking on level and unleveled surfaces, reaching, twisting, turning, kneeling, bending, stooping, squatting, and crouching in the performance of daily activities. The position also requires near, far, and color vision when assisting in activities of program participants.

Additionally, the position requires grasping, repetitive hand movement, and fine coordination when writing and typing announcements and advertisements and providing instruction.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Temporary

Pay: $22.00 - $24.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
