We do that primarily by helping people of all ages and incomes get subsidized health insurance coverage and overcome other cost barriers to care, connecting people with other social services they may need, providing dental services to students in schools, training Certified Peers and Community Health Workers, and creating public health needs assessments to advance public health planning in the region. **_

A Finance Director is needed to provide financial management for our non-profit with a couple million-dollar budget with an impeccable audit trail. As the sole accountant, this person is a central leader in the organization responsible for the full breadth of accounting duties. S/he is instrumental for maintaining accurate financial records, responsible for the administration of human resource benefits and is central for organizational financial planning and compliance.

**Primary Job Duties**:
Planning and Budgeting
- Work closely with Executive Director to develop program budgets (currently 8). Review personnel and overhead allocations among programs to ensure operational and financial effectiveness.
- Develop annual corporate budget with Executive Director; present to HCDI Board and Committees.
- Communicate program budget to expense variances with Program Managers and monitor budget modifications submitted to Contract Managers.

Financial Reporting and Accounting
- Develop, maintain and present monthly financial reports for Executive Director and HCDI Board and Committees.
- Reconcile investment accounts; manage cash flow to initiate investment account transfers.
- Maintain relationship with grant managers for timely budget approval and reimbursement.

Compliance
- Develop, implement and ensure compliance with internal accounting policies and procedures.
- Prepare supporting documentation for annual external audit. Maintain proficiency in audit and not-for-profit reporting guidelines.
- Administer retirement programs. Update payroll system with employee changes.
- Ensure corporate insurances are up to date. Prepare renewal information for insurance agents.
- Prepare monthly program expense reports (currently 6), required supporting documentation and voucher/invoice. Monitor accounts receivable.
- Prepare annual budget for grant funded programs with Executive Director. Analyze budget to actual expense variances monthly. Prepare budget modifications.
- Process accounts payable weekly. Ensure proper allocation of shared expenses.
- Reconcile bank and credit card statements monthly.
- Prepare bi-weekly payroll; update employee PTO; deposit bi-weekly 401k contributions into employees’ accounts.
- Administer employee health and disability benefits. Maintain relationship with benefit insurance agents. Communicate benefits to employees as necessary.
- Meet with new hires to review benefits and company policies; collect necessary paperwork for employee file.
- Maintain compliance with federal, state and local employment laws and regulations. Review and update employee handbook to maintain compliance.

**Qualifications and Skills**:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business or related field. Minimum 3 years’ experience in related employment. Microsoft Office Skills, especially Excel and QuickBooks. Highly organized and detail oriented, Time Management, Problem Solver, Reporting Skills, Analyzing Information, Team Environment, Professionalism, Written and Verbal Communication.

Pay: $70,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
