Company Overview
**Job responsibilities include but not limited to**:
- Maintain all freight databases in support of Logistics decision-making and strategy development such as cost-effective transportation/distribution modes, carriers, and priorities for outbound to customers, customer returns, supplier inbound/returns.
- Participate in developing transportation/distribution strategies and cost saving initiatives.
- Make strategic and real-time decisions in carrier selection, routing, and operational changes to ensure customer satisfaction and most economical on-time deliveries.
- Ensure that transportation operations remain within budgetary guidelines. Assist in establishing and managing budgets.
- Perform all necessary system transactions and submit all reports required such as weekly Logistics performance and monthly VDC report.
- Develop strategies and select TL and LTL carriers that will be used to provide customer satisfaction, on-time deliveries, and optimize cost structures.
- Negotiate freight rates and verify carrier invoices for correct freight charges; log on shipment/invoice database. Constantly source opportunities to reduce overall freight rate.
- Interface with Master Scheduling / Customer Service & Shipping departments to determine daily truck requirements and develop schedules where required.
- Receive, audit, approve/modify carrier invoices, perform G/L cost allocation, enter into Weekly and Master Freight Logs for processing and historical purposes; act as a liaison with the third-party freight payment company.
- Prepare export documentation as required and provide advance notification for border crossing.
- File documentation as necessary and maintain current insurance files and operating authority papers for all carriers.
- Communicate order load status with Customer Service/Warehouse and provide load sheets.
- Follow up with carriers for daily pick up and deliveries.
- Maintain current preferred carrier contact and rate information.
- Schedule carrier pickups. Verify all the daily trucks are scheduled - confirm all shipments daily.
- Provide Load Plans to Warehouse.
- Communicate order load status with Customer Service and provide load sheets to customer service.
- Provide POD’s as required.
- Manage all parcels shipping and manifesting.
- Assist with monthly closing with accounting.
**Skills / Qualifications**:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management or related field required.
- 2 - 5 years’ experience in logistics function, preferably in perishable environment.
- Comprehensive knowledge of the field's concepts and principles.
- Familiarity with computer (ERP/TMS) systems.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Excellent interpersonal, analytical/problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.
- Bilingual in Korean.
