**Job Title: Material Handler**

**Shift: 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM**

**Assignment Duration: 1 Year**

**About the Role**:
As a Material Handler under general supervision, you will be a key component in our daily warehouse operations, ensuring the efficient handling, storage, and movement of materials and goods. Your role is crucial in maintaining inventory accuracy and executing various operational tasks within our warehouse environment.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- ** Materials Management**: Ensure timely movements of goods and materials, accurate storage, and inventory precision.
- ** Shipping and Receiving**: Manage and execute the receiving and shipping processes, ensuring that materials are checked, stored, or dispatched as per organizational standards.
- ** Forklift Operation**: Safely operate forklifts to move and arrange materials and ensure proper handling of all items, particularly chemicals.
- ** Chemical Handling**: Receive, store, and manage chemicals following safety standards and regulations.
- ** Quality Inspections**: Conduct regular inspections of incoming and outgoing materials to ensure quality and accuracy.
- ** Operational Support**: Perform additional duties including monitoring the mailbox, servicing labs, and participating in other directed activities.
- ** Clean-up and Housekeeping**: Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the warehouse, ensuring a safe working environment.

**Qualifications**:

- ** Education**: A high school diploma is required; an Associate degree is preferred.
- ** Experience**: Minimum of two years of material handling experience. Prior experience in an operations environment, including the use of handheld scanners, is preferred.
- ** Certifications**: Lift truck certification is essential.
- ** Skills**:

- Proven experience in receiving and shipping.
- Competency in operating forklifts.
- Experience with chemical handling.

**Additional Requirements**:

- Ability to receive chemicals and perform necessary safety inspections.
- Capacity to monitor operational communications effectively.
- Skills to service and support laboratory environments.
