Overview

We are currently seeking a highly motivated and creative researcher to assist in the development and clinical testing of novel methods to guide cancer therapy in the Letai lab at Dana Farber Cancer Institute. The Letai lab is a translational medicine laboratory with a strong emphasis on functional precision medicine and improving patient therapy. The Research Technician will have the unique opportunity to support clinical testing that will influence patient care, as well as participate in the research and design of even better methods and biomarkers.

The positions in this job family will assist scientists in performing scientific research, development and/or clinical tasks of varying complexity. In general, they will assist in the set up, operation and maintenance of laboratory instruments and equipment, monitoring experiments, making observations and calculating and recording results.

**Responsibilities**:
**Duties and Responsibilities**:
Process and perform daily testing on primary patient samples in a clinical research setting.
Communicate with clinical research coordinators to collect patient samples, ensuring proper documentation and quality control.
Perform statistical analysis of data and format into a clinical report.
Assist in the research, development, and optimization of new assays to be used by the lab or in clinical trials.
Collaborate with scientists from other laboratories and institutions to design and carry out additional experiments.
Maintain cell cultures.
Maintain inventory of laboratory supplies and reagents.
Prepare and present reports or lab meetings.
Perform other related duties as required.

**Qualifications**:
**Qualifications and Skills**:
Familiarity with basic-level laboratory techniques.
Demonstrated ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively as part of a team.
Ability to think critically and creatively and ask scientific questions.
Positive attitude and good interpersonal skills.
Strong organizational techniques and the ability to handle a variety of tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Working knowledge of basic computer skills, including word processing, spreadsheets, and other related software.
Experience with FACS is a plus.

**Education**:
B.S. or B.A. degree with science background required.
