- **Team Building**:_
- Support Store Manager in hiring, supervising, training, and assist team members such as Inside Salesperson and Yard Person in customer service, store and equipment maintenance, and product knowledge.
- Motivating team to meet sales objectives by training and mentoring staff.
- Develop and maintain a schedule for team members to optimize sales and customer service. Maintain a professional image in self and work environment.
- Update team members on business performance, new initiatives, and other pertinent issues.
- Assist Store Manager with all duties as needed.
- Complete all the store manager’s duties in the absence of a store manager.

**Business Development**:

- Maintain proper inventory levels, ensure stocking, implement purchasing plans, and maintain contact with suppliers to ensure maximum efficiency in meeting sales goals.
- Contact, develop and maintain long-lasting business relationships with new and existing Customers.
- Identify current and future customer requirements by establishing rapport with potential and actual customers and other persons in a position to understand service requirements.
- Seek ways to promote the store, the product lines and service within the store.
- Work closely with Finance, Purchasing, Dispatch, and other Sales locations to ensure timely billing, adequate inventory levels and accurate delivery.
- Manage controllable costs with a view to maintaining profitability.
- Report to District Manager on a regular basis regarding store operations.
- Learn our catalog of resale and manufactured products.
- Analyze sales figures and interpret trends to forecast future sales and facilitate planning.
- Respond to customer complaints and comments, with the support of the District Manager.
- Organize special promotions, displays and events.
- Maintain awareness of market trends in the retail industry, understanding forthcoming customer initiatives and monitoring what local competitors are doing.
- Propose changes to improve the business, e.g., revising opening hours to ensure the store can compete effectively in the local market.
- Process orders in our Point-of-Sale system and accurately handle payments by Cash, Checks, Credit Cards, and Charges to Customer Accounts who have credit terms.

**Health and Safety**:

- Ensure the store always remains clean and presentable.
- Secure merchandise by proposing and implementing security systems and measures.
- Protect employees and customers by providing a safe and clean store environment.
- Maintain the stability and reputation of the store by complying with legal requirements.
- Ensure standards for quality, customer service and health and safety are met.
- Tour the sales floor regularly, talking to team members and customers to identify or resolve urgent issues.
- Qualifications and Education Requirements
- An associate degree or equivalent plus 5 years of experience in sales and administration in a retail environment, preferably in construction trade.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Ability to travel and work at all 7 retail locations.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to negotiate with customers.
- Organized with excellent time management, detail oriented and prioritization skills.
- Background in Masonry and Concrete construction industry is desirable.
