**Duties**:
You will direct traffic at various locations within Point Reyes National Seashore, California, providing park visitors with complete and accurate park and area information in person. You will be responsible for controlling the congestion in parking lots and roads. You will explain regulations and provide clear and concise directions. You may provide roving, informal interpretation on park beaches, trails, and at the historic lighthouse.

**Career-Seasonal appointments are permanent positions and include the same benefits as Career appointments**, but do not provide work on a year-round basis. Each position will have a 2 week non-pay period between October 1 and November 15. The hours per week will be no less than 16 hours per week and no fewer than 32 hours per Pay Period with occasional holidays worked.

**Conditions of Employment**:

- U.S. Citizenship required.
- Meet Selective Service Registration Act requirement for males.
- Selectee will be required to participate in the Direct Deposit Electronics Funds Transfer Program.
- You will be required to operate a government (or private) motor vehicle as part of your official duties; a valid driver's license is required. You will be required to submit a Motor Vehicle Operator's License and Driving Record. You must also submit (within a State sealed envelope or submitted directly by the State authorities), and at your own expense, all certified driving records from all States that disclose all valid driver's licenses, whether current or past, possessed by you.
- You will be required to wear a uniform and comply with the National Park Service uniform standards. A uniform allowance will be provided.
- You may be required to work on-call, evenings, weekends, holidays, overtime and shift work.
- If you are a new employee in the Federal government, you will be required to complete a one-year probationary period.
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
- **Government Housing MAY be Available.**:

- Travel, transportation & relocation expenses will not be paid. Relocation expenses will be the employee's responsibility.
- Applicants must be at least (1)18 years old or (2) at least 16 years old and: (a) Have graduated from high school or been awarded a certificate equivalent to graduating from high school; or (b) Have completed a formal vocational training program; or (c) Have received a statement from school authorities agreeing with their preference for employment rather than continuing their education; or (d) Be currently enrolled in a secondary school and either work only during school vacation periods or work part-time during the school year under a formal student employment program.

**Qualifications**:

- All qualifications must be met by 11:59 EST when the applicant cut-off is reached (which may be sooner than05/08/2024).
- Credit will be given for all appropriate qualifying experience. To receive credit for experience, your resume **MUST** clearly indicate the nature of the duties and responsibilities for each position, starting and ending dates of employment (month/year), and the resume must reflect full and/or part-time or total number of hours worked (i.e., work 40+ hours a week, rather than indicating full-time). If part-time, the hours must be annotated to be able to pro-rate the amount of qualified specialized experience.
- To qualify for this position at the GS-04 grade level, you must possess one of the following minimum qualifications by close of the announcement:

- **EXPERIENCE**: Six (6) months of general experience and six (6) months of specialized experience for a total of one year of experience. **You must include hours worked per week on your resume.**
**General Experience** is experience in administrative, professional, technical, investigative, or other responsible work that provided a familiarity with natural or cultural history, fish or wildlife habitat characteristics, techniques of resource protection and use; recreational use of public lands and facilities, enforcement of laws, rules, or regulations; fire prevention techniques and fire suppression methods; or the practice of interpersonal relations skills in dealing with the general public. Experience in substantive and relevant secretarial, clerical, or trades and crafts work is also qualifying if pertinent to this position. Experience of a routine nature, such as typing, filing, maintaining records, or other non-specialized tasks is not qualifying.
- **Specialized Experience** is experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to successfully perform the duties of this position. Examples of specialized experience could include Park Guide or tour leader; environmental educator or teacher; law enforcement or investigative work; archeological or historical preservation research work; forestry and/or fire management work in a park, recreation, or conservation area; management, assistant, or program specialist work i
