**JOB SUMMARY**

As a member of the professional staff, contributes specialized knowledge and skill in the discipline of Global Claims in support of department business objectives. Generally, works under limited supervision, but within established guidelines, producing and analyzing business information to assist claims staff in the decision-making process.

**Specific Job Summary**

The Claims Coordinator, Global Claims is responsible for the timely, review and processing of litigation documents to determine proper entities and participation status in Marriott’s insurance programs. This position serves as a liaison between the Dispute Resolution Group and Marriott Claims Services regional offices to facilitate accurate and prompt communication of legal documents to avoid default. Additionally, the Claims Coordinator, Global Claims serves as a resource for both the HQ Global Claims Team and Marriott Claims Services regional offices for identification of proper signatories, securing corporate contracts, records and other information necessary to facilitate claims adjustment. Further, this position performs claim triage of new incident reports received from international hotels.

**Specific Expected Contributions (including duties and responsibilities)**
- Timely review and processing of new lawsuits/legal documents received from Dispute Resolution Group to determine proper entities and participation status of the involved hotel in Marriott’s insurance program and to route them to the appropriate claims examiner.
- Assist HQ Global Claims Examiners with identification of and obtaining corporate documents and records needed by claims handlers as part of the claim investigation process.
- Serve as communication and coordination liaison in conjunction with the HQ Global Claims Examiners, MCS regional claim handlers and other Marriott corporate departments to assist with document production, certifications, and witness identification.
- Triage new international loss reports in the MIRA system for determination on whether to file as notice-only or submit to external insurance carrier for claim creation.
- Participate in Risk Management initiatives involving system enhancements that impact the claims triage process.
- Coordinate file retention and destruction process for HQ Employment Practices Liability Team with offsite vendor.
- Effectively utilize applicable systems to assist in locating corporate information (e.g. - iVOS, RisKonncect, Team Connect, etc.)
- Complete special projects and other tasks assigned by the Senior Director of Global Claims.
- Two or Four-year degree from an accredited college/business/technical school or paralegal certificate preferred.
- Exhibit leadership, management, and teamwork skills.
