**Summary**:
The New York State Senate Finance Committee plays a pivotal role in overseeing the fiscal implications of all legislative proposals, actively engaging in the formulation and negotiation of the state's substantial $220 billion budget. By providing insightful advisement to Senators, the committee facilitates informed decision-making, steering the state towards a trajectory of fiscal prudence and economic vitality.

In line with our commitment to fiscal stewardship, the Senate Finance Committee is currently seeking an adept individual for the position of Grants Administrator. This entry-level position is central to assisting in legislative grants work and legislative initiatives, providing a supportive role in the development, management, and processing of grants awarded through various programs. As a Grants Administrator, you will be an integral part of a team dedicated to ensuring the effective allocation and utilization of grant resources in alignment with legislative objectives.

**Key Duties and Responsibilities**:

- The tasks outlined below are indicative of the variety of work that may be undertaken. Additional duties, similar or related to the following, may also form part of this role.
- Assist in communication and resolve basic technical and grant-related issues among member offices, State agencies, and grantees under supervision.
- Support grant tracking and reporting functions, aiding in the compliance with periodic project reporting requirements.
- Assist in correspondence with member offices, grantees, and State agency officials regarding matters such as grant status and overall grant development.
- Learn to communicate effectively and professionally, both verbally and in writing, with elected officials, their staff, and State Agencies, under guidance.
- Provide basic technical support for member offices regarding proposed grant eligibility, grant nominations, and grant activation, under supervision.
- Assist in maintaining and updating the master project database to reflect grant nomination, grant activation, State Agency due diligence process, and legislative approval.
- Help compile department and project data; aid in producing quarterly and annual member discretionary reports of project status and new project nominations, under guidance.

**Qualifications**:

- Familiarity with Google Suite, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Access is desirable.
- Good interpersonal skills and a willingness to learn and pay attention to detail.
- Basic communication skills to interact effectively within a team.
- Some computer skills, with a willingness to learn and use spreadsheets, perform data entry, and assist in reporting.
- Possession of a Bachelor’s Degree is required.

Pay: $55,000.00 per year
