**Duties**:
The United States Space Force (USSF) Headquarters Space Force (HQSF) at the Pentagon is searching for a Deputy Division Chief, Strategy, Policy, and Plans (NH-0343-04).

Description:
Plans, organizes, and directs the overall activities of the division or organization. Develops goals and objectives that integrate Space Force mission and personnel policy objectives. Establishes, revises, or reviews policies, procedures, mission objectives, and organization design for the staff as necessary to eliminate work problems or barriers to mission accomplishment, promote team building, implement quality improvements, or in response to concerns with statutory and regulatory compliance and/or customer requirements. Provides staff with direction and advice regarding overarching policies, goals, and objectives. Reviews and structures organization to optimize use of resources and maximize efficiency and effectiveness of the organization. Balances workload and provides overall direction and vision to the staff on a wide range of personnel policy and administrative issues. Establishes metric and/or analysis systems to assess efficiency and effectiveness. Evaluates requirements for additional resources, and balances organization needs with overall mission requirements and resource interests. Identifies need for change in organization priorities and takes action to implement such changes. Establishes review systems for the organization that ensure government needs are met and validated, and that economy and quality of operations are maintained or improved. Accepts, amends, or rejects work of subordinates. Reviews work and is held accountable for actions taken and advice provided by staff. Makes decisions on work problems presented by subordinates. Directs self-assessment activities. Reviews training, recommend/requested assuring it is proper and promotes effective operation of the organization as a whole. Provides a work environment that is free from all forms of discrimination, harassment, and retaliation.

**Key Skills and Abilities**:
1. Expert knowledge in Space Force's strategy, policy and plans development processes.
2. In-depth knowledge in qualitative and/or quantitative methods for assessing higher level guidance from the White House, Department of Defense and Joint Staff.
3. Knowledge of the relationship of the various Space Force entities involved in strategy, policy and plans activities, to include entities involved in various assessment methods for military utility.
4. Knowledge of the relationship of the various Space Force entities involved in overall planning and execution of military operations and evaluations.
5. Ability to gather, assemble, and analyze facts, draw conclusions, conduct analysis, devise recommended solutions, and package the entire process in briefings, papers, or reports suitable for Space Force senior leadership decision-making.
6. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing; negotiate complex issues; and maintains good working relations.
7. Ability to work with partners outside the Space Force including foreign partners.

- U.S. Citizenship Required
- This position is on-site and not eligible for remote or telework.
- Employee must be able to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret Special Sensitive.
- Position may include additional program security requirements in order to fully perform the duties and responsibilities of the position. The incumbent must be willing to submit to a Counterintelligence Polygraph and mandatory drug testing
- May be required to travel by military or commercial aircraft in the performance of TDY assignments
- May be required to work overtime on an unscheduled or emergency basis.
- Required to handle and safeguard sensitive and/or classified information in accordance with regulations to reduce potential compromise; employee must obtain and maintain the appropriate security clearance.
- PCS funding is not available.
