**Summary**:
Central Research Inc., is seeking a **Freedom of Information Act Analyst (FOIA)** to support one of our Federal Clients in Washington, D.C. The analyst will be part of a team that provides FOIA and Privacy Act (PA) processing and internal and external consulting services.

**Essential Duties & Responsibilities**:

- Provide FOIA and Privacy Act (PA) reviews and process pending complex FOIA cases
- Review, organize, and analyze documents for production in response to FOIA requests
- Determine responsive records
- Coordinate proposed disclosures of information for several entities within the agency
- Redact documents in accordance with agency specifications and entity FOIA protocols which include annotating appropriate FOIA exemptions on records
- Generate draft response letters to requestors detailing the FOIA review and release determination
- Maintain complete and detailed case notes on assigned cases
- Support agency litigation efforts

**Required Education and Experience Qualifications**:

- 5 years of FOIA processing experience
- Bachelor’s Degree
- U.S. Citizenship or Lawful Permanent Residency required per the contact
- Ability to successfully obtain and retain the clearance required by the client

**Preferred Education and Experience Qualifications**:

- 5 years of FOIA processing experience
- Bachelor’s Degree

**Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities**:

- Knowledge of legal interpretations of the FOIA as it affects exemptions, and release of documents
- Knowledge of the Privacy Act
- Proficiency in managing and processing FOIA requests in the FOIAXpress software system
- Strong research and analytical skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact with individuals at all organizational levels
- Working knowledge of personal computers and software (Microsoft Word and Adobe)
- Ability to handle multiple tasks within specified deadlines
- Excellent case management and time management skills
- Proficient use of Adobe Acrobat Pro,
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Attention to detail
