Coast Carpentry is a young company looking to expand and fulfill an increasing demand of work. This is an all around Carpentry Contracting Service provider with many years of experience in the framing of complex custom homes, high end trim and mill work, decks, siding, weather proofing homes, custom wood working projects, and extensive remodels and rennovations that involve removing load bearing walls, transferring load points and weight ditributions, reconfiguring homes, as well as investigative repair work.

**Overview**:
Coast Carpentry is seeking a motivated individual to join our team as an Apprentice. This position offers the opportunity to learn and develop skills in various areas of Carpentry. The applicant can look forward to learning...
- Custom framing_... including how to use algebra, geometry, trigonometry, and some calculus to solve complex problems, and create work pieces soley using mathmatics
- _High end trim and mill work_... from creating mouldings, to trimming arched windows and everything in between
- _Building science_... from properly sealing a home, to protecting exteriors from the elements, to fire ratings, codes, and all the other crucial parts of construction that go unseen
- C_ustom wood working pieces_... custom railings, refuribishing old windows, custom garage doors, tables and cabinets
- H_ome remodeling, Rennovations, and Additions_... identify and fix improperly built structures, planning ahead to work efficiently and in harmony with other trades, learning how to properly distribute weight, transfer loads to beams, and properly adjoin a new structure to and existing structure

**Duties**:

- to assist in projects and learn the proper way to do them with out cutting corners
- carry wood, unload tools, and keep a clean and tidy work environment
- measure, cut, fasten, and install work pieces
- work well with in a team setting and maintain a positive/ambitious attitude

**Skills**:

- have a basic understanding of different types of tools and their functions
- have a basic understanding of how to read a tape measure
- the willingness to work hard and keep a postive attitude
- the ability to overcome mistakes and learn from them
- common sense and critical thinking skills

Pay: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30 - 50 per week
