Job Description Summary

The applicant will join an existing team that is performing translational research studies focusing on myocardial biology and heart failure pathophysiology. Job functions will involve cell culture techniques including work with induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs) and iPSC-derived cardiomyocytes, cell and tissue engineering, and varied molecular biology techniques. The applicant will also be involved in cell isolation and studies involving ex vivo characterization of isolated cardiomyocytes and myocardial tissue slices. Prior experience with cell culture and virus mediated gene-editing is required. In addition, the applicant must have significant experience using basic and advanced molecular biology techniques, tissue culture, siRNA. The applicant will also help with designing experiments, interpreting data and planning of future experiments. The applicant must be able to work independently and in small groups. Excellent organization, communication and collaboration skills are critical.
