**Job description**

IMPORTANT DETAILS:

- Must be available to work on Saturday's. This position is not a M-F only job.

Position Type:

**Director of Catering Responsibilities**:

- Lead the catering department, oversee deliveries, and nurture strong customer relationships
- Play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of catering services, from planning and preparation to execution and delivery
- Develop and foster catering relationships with local businesses and local schools
- Build and maintain strong relationships with catering clients, providing personalized service and addressing their needs and preferences
- Maintain high standards of quality and presentation for all catering offerings, ensuring that food is fresh, delicious, and visually appealing
- Execute day-to-day activities such as:

- Plan for, organize, and finalize the Delivery and Pick-up orders
- Conduct confirmation calls for every order
- Conduct call-backs with customers who haven’t ordered with us in a while to see if we can serve them again
- Come in early as needed to support the execution of large orders, ensuring all orders are complete and on time
- Safely driving the Catering Van
- Monitor inventory levels and order supplies as needed to maintain sufficient stock for catering activities
- Conduct regular inspections of catering equipment, facilities, and vehicles to ensure cleanliness, safety, and compliance with health regulations
- Implement quality control measures and corrective actions as needed to address any issues or deficiencies
- Your leadership, organizational skills, and commitment to customer satisfaction will be essential in driving the success of the catering team

**Key Duties**:

- Manage the day-to-day activities and take leadership in handling customer relationships and customer account management
- Oversee the scheduling of catering events, ensuring timely delivery and setup according to customer requirements
- Strategize and create new ways to attract Catering customers (e.g., offer samples, create in-store catering events)
- Proactively seek opportunities to upsell catering services and generate repeat business through exceptional service and attention to detail
- Conduct regular meetings and training sessions to communicate goals, expectations, and updates to the team
- Address any delivery-related issues or concerns promptly and professionally
- Act as the primary point of contact for catering inquiries, requests, and feedback, ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction
- Ensure a seamless service throughout the catering experience (online, phone, fulfillment)
- Conduct follow-ups with catering customers weekly (or bi-weekly) to ensure they had a good catering experience
- Thank our customers who order from us frequently by sending them a handwritten ‘thank you’ or gift basket

**Qualifications and Requirements**:

- Previous experience in catering operations, including supervision and leadership responsibilities
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a customer-focused approach
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in catering and hospitality
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, Saturdays (always-closed on Sundays), and holidays, as needed.
- Strong time management skills
- Excellent phone etiquette
- Self-starter
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- A passion for food and hospitality, along with a positive attitude and a willingness to go above and beyond to exceed customer expectations, are essential for success in this role.
