Summary:
**Responsibilities**:

- Communicate and document appropriately and effectively with supervisors, physicians, nurse practitioners, unit-based pharmacists, social workers, nurse managers, peers, patients/customers and outside agencies.
- Collaboration with internal team members to gather appropriate paperwork, prescription, billing information, and/or prescription(s.)
- Coordination of medication access and delivery for outpatient use.
- Develop and maintain understanding of medication names and drug therapies especially for assigned service lines.
- Provides appropriate follow-up relating to patients, clinical practices, and family for pharmaceutical needs and/or additional eligibility information to ensure on-going medication access.
- Proficiently execute all accountabilities of Pharmacy Technician 1.
- Performs duties in accordance with Penn Medicine and entity values, policies, and procedures.
- Other duties as assigned to support the unit, department, entity, and health system organization.

Credentials:

- Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT)

Education or Equivalent Experience:

- H.S. Diploma/GED with 1+ years Pharmacy experience as a certified pharmacy technician in a retail/outpatient pharmacy or payor environment (required)
- 2+ years Pharmacy experience as a certified pharmacy technician in a retail/outpatient pharmacy or payor environment (preferred)
