**Qualifications**:
**MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS**
- Any bachelor’s degree or higher and two years of professional experience, **OR**:

- Any associate degree and six years of professional experience.
- Professional experience is required when the applicant possesses a master’s degree. The professional experience required must be directly related to the faculty member’s teaching assignment.
- Evidence of a sensitivity, understanding, and ability to manage the classroom environment AND effectively provide instruction to community college students of diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds.

**DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS**
- Recent community college or lower division teaching experience in Baking & Pastry Arts.
- Minimum five (5) years of full-time, hands-on experience in commercial/industrial kitchens (e.g. Luxury Hotel, Fine-Dining Restaurants, Bakeries).
- Thorough functional knowledge of equipment, facilities, procedures, food safety and sanitation, and personnel practices in the culinary field.
- Ability to work with computers and use the Internet and interactive technologies to engage students in on-campus and online courses, and intrinsic motivation and ability to develop and teach online courses (where academically appropriate).
