This position reports to the IT Director and has responsibility to manage and support all network, server, workstation, telephone, and office automation operations in all County departments. End-user support is essential, but this is not primarily a help-desk position.

**Primary duties include**:

- Perform and document maintenance and management of all software, hardware, and networks
- Monitor availability of all systems and respond to security or usability concerns
- Troubleshoot operational issues rapidly to restore production systems
- Manage the setup, installation, and operation of new and existing workstations
- Respond to user assistance requests

Other duties include supporting interaction with vendors and service providers; implementing network programming, wiring, and patch panel management; maintaining inventory; and participating in department research and development projects. Resourcefulness is a necessary skill in this role and you must be able to diagnose and resolve problems quickly. Time management is required to prioritize and complete assigned tasks. You should have the patience to communicate effectively with others having different levels of technical skill. The ability and willingness to follow verbal and written directions is essential.

**Knowledge and experience**:
One to three years of hands-on experience in a Windows business environment is preferred, either through previous employment or self-study. An associate degree in an IT field or functional knowledge of computer and network operations is required.

Pay: $25.98 per hour
