**Job Summary**

The Floor Store is looking for a motivated and dedicated purchasing assistant in our corporate office. This is a full-time, permanent position and will report to the purchasing manager. This is a great opportunity at a rapidly growing company for a positive individual with a can-do attitude.
- Place material orders; monitor stock levels and identify purchasing needs.
- Track, monitor and follow up on orders with suppliers, as needed, to confirm or change orders.
- Track and monitor price list updates.
- Communicate with vendors, customers and sales team regarding purchase order details.
- Identify potential vendors with which to arrange contacts.
- Maintain strong working relationship with vendors.
- Staying current and abreast with current and upcoming stock items.
- Track and monitor shipments, pricing and discounts that are applied to invoices.
- Track and manage transfer requests of materials, both internally and with external vendors.
- Data entry.

Assist purchasing manager in customer and employee inquiries.

Position Requirements:

- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Self-starter; must be able to find solutions and solve problems with limited direction
- Great communication - must possess top-notch verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment - this is a MUST Tasks and duties will change on a daily basis based on business needs and the purchasing assistant must be able to switch gears quickly and enthusiastically
- Demonstrated track record of being organized and detail oriented - this position requires keen attention to detail and accuracy
- Must have a great attitude; willing and eager to find solutions and solve problems
- Familiarity with ERP systems a plus; must be comfortable navigating through vendor websites and be able to adapt quickly to different interfaces
- Floorcovering industry experience a plus

The Floor Store is an EEO. This position is classified as non-exempt under the FLSA. Successful post-offer background check is one of the conditions of employment.

Pay: $21.00 - $23.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
