McLean Asset Management Corporation (McLean) is seeking a full-time Investment Associate to work remotely for the Tysons, VA office. This role supports McLean’s centralized investment operations and trading functions for the entire wealth management team. The Investment Associate role presents an excellent opportunity to gain experience in investment planning and tax-efficient portfolio management while working closely with a team of fiduciary advisors focused on comprehensive financial planning. This role has exposure to how financial planning recommendations impact portfolio management and provides an excellent baseline for a planning-focused career track.

**Portfolio Analysis and Advisor Team Support**
- Responsible for initial and ongoing client portfolio reviews, executing required investment changes, and maintaining regular communication with the advisory team members regarding client investments
- Assist with creating investment proposals, portfolio transition plans, and implementation plans for clients and prospects
- Ensure all investment-related presentation templates are current, updating data as needed
- Leverage investment research databases to perform research and analysis as needed

**Trading and Portfolio Management**
- Level 1 trading for client portfolios.
- Review portfolio allocations to ensure they are within the allowable range
- Monitor cash positions, investing as appropriate to match target allocations
- Effectively implement investment decisions and rebalance client accounts according to requested changes (e.g., new asset allocation or adjustment to the individual client needs and objectives, etc.)
- Facilitate and monitor the daily trading process for all client accounts. Includes file transmissions, receipts, and acknowledgments processes

**Due Diligence**
- Perform investment due diligence and screening, using the firm’s monitoring criteria to guide the analysis and recommendations
- Identify alternate investment options to meet a client’s goal. Perform research to confirm that the investment adheres to the McLean investment philosophy and meets due diligence criteria
- Maintain mutual fund and ETF due diligence logs and prepare data and reports for McLean’s quarterly Investment Committee meetings
- Attend the quarterly Investment Committee meetings to record minutes, update due diligence notes, and perform additional research and follow-up as needed

**Operations and Compliance**
- Provide insight regarding technology and process improvements for greater efficiency
- Work seamlessly with Operations colleagues to support clients and the advisory team
- Assist with quarter-end data reconciliation and processing of management fees
- Support the firm’s compliance efforts by maintaining appropriate controls to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations

**Professional Development**
- Strengthen technical skills and knowledge of financial markets, investments, and financial planning through designations and other professional development opportunities
- Cross-training in other areas of the firm to promote professional development and comprehension of overall firm operations
- Pursuit of a relevant professional designation based on desired career path

**Preferred Qualifications**
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, or a related field
- Prior experience working with investments
- Intermediate to Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
- Positive, professional attitude and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- A desire to work at a close-knit firm that values a client-first culture and the highest ethical standards

Pay: $55,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
