**Duties**:

- Analyze short, medium, and long-range projects for solutions of complex operational or policy issues in areas such as information security, information security reporting, systems development life cycle, quality assurance, and others as directed.
- Develop and executes strategies for developing system development quality assurance (QA) program management office.
- Prepare internal and external reports that may includes providing audit liaison support to IT operations, such as the Federal Information Security Act (FISMA), Chief Financial Officer, and others as directed.
- Monitor organizational, legislative, administrative, and technological changes that affect information systems' standards and related processes and impact upon future planning to meet the needs of the Agency.

**In order to qualify for the GS-13**, you must meet the following: You must demonstrate in your resume at least one year (52 weeks) of qualifying specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal government, obtained in either the private or public sector, to include:
- Developing policies, procedures, or processes related to Information Technology (IT) Security; AND
- Analyzing IT systems to remediate security weaknesses including developing Plan of Action and Milestones (POAMS), and
documenting controls, processes, and improvements; AND
- Presenting information to stakeholders such as IT Security guidance, project status, project plans, or other IT Security related
information; AND

Publications, Office of Management and Budget (OMB) Guidance, or other applicable guidance or directives.

- **Problem Solving** - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. **Workplace Flexibility at CMS**: This position has a regular and recurring reporting requirement to the CMS office listed in this announcement; however, CMS offers flexible working arrangements and allows employees the opportunity to participate in telework combined with alternative work schedules at the manager's discretion. This position **_may_** be authorized for telework. Telework eligibility will be discussed during the interview process. Supervisory positions must report a minimum 2 times per week and non-Supervisory positions must report a minimum of 2 times per pay period.
