Essential Duties:

- Manage medical supplies inventory and perform preventive maintenance on medical equipment, including phlebotomy supplies.
- Verify patient information, record medical history accurately, and confirm the purpose of the visit.
- Prepare patients for examination by conducting preliminary physical tests, obtaining vital signs, and summarizing pertinent medical information.
- Support office procedures to optimize time management for healthcare providers, including assisting with phlebotomy appointments.
- Safeguard patient confidentiality and maintain medical records with meticulous attention to detail.
- Counsel patients on physician's orders and provide clear explanations regarding phlebotomy procedures and expectations.
- Coordinate surgery schedules, liaise with surgical centers, and complete necessary paperwork related to phlebotomy requisitions.
- Ensure a safe work environment by adhering to standards and regulations specific to phlebotomy practices.
- Manage phlebotomy supplies through inventory control and ordering processes, ensuring adequate stock levels.
- Perform phlebotomy procedures with precision and compassion, minimizing patient discomfort and ensuring sample integrity.
- Maintain equipment functionality by following manufacturer instructions and promptly addressing any issues or malfunctions.
- Stay informed about industry developments and best practices in phlebotomy through continuing education and professional development opportunities.
- Adhere to professional standards, facility policies, and legal requirements, promoting a culture of excellence and compliance.

Qualifications/Skills:

- Proficient in phlebotomy techniques, including venipuncture and capillary puncture.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to establish rapport with patients and colleagues.
- Knowledgeable in infection control practices specific to phlebotomy procedures, ensuring patient and staff safety.
- Ability to create a safe and efficient environment for phlebotomy procedures, prioritizing patient comfort and well-being.
- Organizational skills to manage phlebotomy appointments, supplies, and documentation effectively.
- Proficient in scheduling tasks and appointments, optimizing workflow efficiency.
- Professional demeanor and conduct, maintaining patient confidentiality and respect at all times.
- Customer-focused approach, with a commitment to providing compassionate care to patients undergoing phlebotomy procedures.
- Compassionate bedside manner, offering reassurance and support to patients during phlebotomy procedures.

Education, Experience, and Licensing:

- Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) certification
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a medical office, with specific experience in phlebotomy procedures
- Proficiency with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems and medical terminology
- Previous experience in a specific medical field is advantageous
- Certification or training in phlebotomy techniques is required, with a strong emphasis on venipuncture and capillary puncture.

Pay: $12.00 - $16.00 per hour
