The Wisconsin Department of Revenue (DOR); Office of General Counsel is currently recruiting to fill a hybrid paralegal position based in our Madison office, which telecommutes one day per week. The Office of General Counsel represents the Department of Revenue in tax and other proceedings, seeking fair and expeditious resolution of taxpayer appeals.

The register created from this recruitment may be used to fill future vacancies** **in the next six months within the Department of Revenue.

**Salary Information**:
Salary for the **Paralegal** position (schedule-range **07-04**) is $54,080 to $69,388 annually ($26.00 to $33.36 hourly), or up to the appointment maximum at the time of appointment, depending on qualifications, plus excellent benefits. Use this Total Rewards Calculator to see an estimate of the total value of our competitive benefits package Current state employees pay will be based on the provisions in the Compensation Plan. A twelve-month probationary period is required.

**Job Details**:
Applicants must be eligible to work in the United States. The Department of Revenue does not sponsor work or student visas, either at time of hire or at any later time. DOR participates in E-Verify and will provide the federal government with Form I-9 information for all new employees to confirm authorization to work in the U.S.

**Qualifications**:
1-Preparing legal documents (e.g., drafting pleadings, briefs, gathering records, organizing data, etc.).

2-Providing administrative support in a legal office setting (e.g., writing letters/correspondences, database management, managing a legal calendar, data entry, etc.).

3-Proofreading documents.

1-Research experience with public records, statutes, cases or other legal resources.

2-Paralegal experience in civil or administrative cases.

3-Paralegal certificate or other certificate in a legal area.
