Day: 8 hours

**Job Description**:
Works closely with the POCT Manager to coordinate and support all hospital-wide Point-of-Care testing program activities for bedside laboratory testing and ensures compliance of hospital personnel with program standards. This includes, but is not limited to, QA review, instrument evaluation, set-up and validation, calibration verification, linearity testing, inventory management, new lot reagent verification, maintenance, troubleshooting, training of designated nursing personnel, inventory control, quality control, proficiency testing and participation in on-site inspections. Fosters teamwork in doing whatever is necessary to maintain a smooth running POCT program.

QUALIFICATIONS

Baccalaureate degree in clinical laboratory science, or equivalent field of study.

Minimum of 4-5 years of experience as a CLS in an acute care setting hospital laboratory.

Strong Chemistry and/or Hematology experience preferred.

Minimum of 4-5 years of experience in Point of Care Testing required in an acute care hospital setting.

Competent in POC test systems (7 preferred).

Demonstrated troubleshooting & critical thinking skills, and knowledge of performance improvement principles.

Knowledge of regulatory compliance standards including College of American Pathologists laboratory, Joint Commission, and CMS.

Training and coaching experience and working knowledge of adult learning principles. Experience with developing training and competency programs preferred.

Technical writing experience preferred.

Working knowledge of inventory management and equipment evaluation.

License/Certifications

Valid California Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) license.

ASCP POC Specialist Certificate preferred.

Salary Range:
$61.80 - $92.70 USD Hourly
