Key Responsibilities
- Supervision and Safety: Ensure the safety and well-being of all campers by monitoring activities, enforcing camp rules, and providing first aid when necessary.
- Activity Leadership: Plan, organize, and lead a variety of camp activities including arts and crafts, fitness, games, swimming, and educational activities.
- Camper Engagement: Create a welcoming and inclusive environment, encouraging camper participation and fostering positive relationships among campers.
- Role Modeling: Serve as a positive role model for campers, demonstrating respect, responsibility, and enthusiasm.
- Conflict Resolution: Address and mediate conflicts between campers in a constructive manner.
- Communication: Maintain open communication with campers, parents, and fellow staff members. Report any issues or concerns to the Camp Director.
- Logistics and Administration: Assist with camp setup, cleanup, and other logístical tasks as needed.
**Qualifications**:
- Age Requirement: Must be at least 18 years old.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent; college coursework in education, recreation, or related fields is a plus.
- Experience: Previous experience working with children in a camp, educational, or recreational setting preferred.
- Skills:
- Strong leadership and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to work as part of a team and adapt to dynamic situations.
- Basic first aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Personal Attributes:
- High energy, creativity, and a positive attitude.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine interest in child development.
- Dependability and punctuality.
Working Conditions
- Physical Demands: Ability to participate in physical activities, including swimming and light hiking.
**Responsibilities**
- Plan indoor and outdoor activities for groups of campers
- Create weekly or daily schedules taking into account children’s age groups and interests
- Lead recreational and educational activities
- Escort and oversee children
- Educate campers through games and explorations
- Resolve occasional conflicts between children and address behavioral issues
- Make sure all safety rules are followed
- Ensure camp environment is clean
- Perform first aid or take care of injuries as needed
- Keep accurate incident logs

- Proven experience as Camp Counselor or similar role working with children
- Patient and reliable
- Organizational and communication skills
- A love for children
- Energetic and positive personality
- Ability to meet the physical demands of the job (strength and stamina to follow strenuous activities like hiking, running, crouching or carrying children)
- First aid

Pay: $15.00 per hour
