- Implement school social work services within a multi-tiered intervention model for programs and services.
- Provide group support to students and their families in need of assistance.
- Implement a Character Education Program in the assigned campus.
- Provide instruction, modeling, and coaching to students, parents, and school staff in the implementation of effective behavioral intervention strategies. Provide ongoing guidance and training services to parents and school staff on topics pertinent to their development, mental health, and learning needs of students.
- Provide liaison, coordination, and case management services with schools, families, community agencies, and other resources to influence positive school outcomes for students.
- Conduct needs assessments and advocates for policies, programs, and services to meet educational and mental health needs of all students, and to support safe school climates conducive to learning.
- Identify issues that may interfere with student development, learning, and school success.
- Ensure the prevention, assessment, evaluation, and intervention services are sensitive to the diverse needs of the student’s multi-cultural differences.

**Responsibilities**:

- Connect with families to secure community resources such as rental assistance, food, and clothing within a multi-tiered intervention model for programs and services.
- Provide group support to students and their families in need of assistance.
- Identify community mental health resources that can enhance existing services at the campus.
- Conduct home visits.
- Participate in policy and program development in the areas of self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, relationship skills, and responsible decision-making.
- Coordinate the partnership with the Houston Food Bank to be a School Market distribution site and distribute food sacks to students in need every Friday.
- Coordinate the Campus Community Closet to distribute clothing and household goods to families in need.
- Attend bi-weekly Tribunal meetings to identify truant students and causes for their truancy. Work with truant students to re-engage in the campus milieu and improve attendance.

**Qualifications**:

- Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology or other closely related field.
- Bilingual - English/Spanish fluent
- Minimum 2 years’ experience is required.

- Knowledge of current trends, methods, research, and technology in area of responsibility
- In-depth knowledge of assigned program and service area
- Ability to collect, analyze and interpret data
